Sprung from his love of the nostalgic and intrinsic qualities of antiques and collectibles, the Rooster’s Perch opened its doors in 2005 in the hamlet of Clifford. The owner, Nick Oleksandriw, had already been a long-time collector of vintage glass Christmas ornaments, fishing tackle, Montreal Canadiens memorabilia with the list going on and on.
"As an antiques customer in the past, I always valued the hunt as much as the acquisition. My preference of shops would be those with an unstructured display of offerings which forced me to delve through the flotsam and jetsam to find the “pearl”, as opposed to the pretentious boutique-like shops that one has
to tip-toe through."
